Shokudo

Japanese Coffee House

Life in Singapore is always frantic, stress is probably your everyday company,
even if it's for half or an hour,
you wish you could just sit back and enjoy a breather.

Look no further, because there is where,
Shokudo, Japanese Coffee House,
frees you for a break during lunch or dinner

How can you miss out on a cup of Coffee while visiting a Coffee House.
Ordered a Cappuccino. Wasn't fantastic, wasn't stunning,
just how it should be, pure and enjoyable.

More often than not our meal will be kick started by a refreshing salad, this time happens to be no exception.
The Seafood Salad, comes with pieces of squid, scallop, salmon, and prawn.
The freshness of these raw ingredients are really delightful.

Here you see our selected side dish, Crunchy Salmon Maki.
Servings to taste to price ratios are pretty good.
A nice side to go with whether is it Western or Japanese mains
you be having.

One of the mains we ordered, the Grilled Chicken Curry Omu Rice.
A really filling dish to have, portions are big, be it the rice, to the grilled chicken, or to the served curry.
Curry taste is good, flavour is rather heavy.
Liked the Omurice too, pretty well done.
However the grilled chicken, which we had ordered due to our
decision to not have anything considerably heaty or unhealthy,
wasn't really delivered in the form of what we had in mind.
Taste like Bah Gua, or Roasted duck.

I found this coffee house to be quite the mixture of a classic Coffee House and
a Japanese eatery, thus leading me to take this dish for my main.
Was kind of disappointed.
Chicken Chop with Wasabi, the name is what u get,
a chicken chop coupled with wasabi.
Good thing about this is the wasabi really goes well with the chop.
And here's the bad thing, the chicken chop i would consider is rather oily
to the extent the wasabi, which was intended to act as a match to erase
the greasiness, didn't really carry out it's purpose.
Tasty nonetheless, but wouldn't recommend if
you are looking to have something healthy for the day.

To round up the introduction of Shokudo,
A good mesh of coffee house and Japanese eatery,
Menus are interesting and prices are held at mid tiers.
Food comes in rather big servings so you do not
want to order too much at a go.
As for taste goes, we would say it's about 6 to 7.5 on a scale of 10.
An overall positive dining experience,
